Grand jury reconvening in Steubenville this week

Attorney General did not make clear whether other indictments are expected

STEUBENVILLE, Ohio - The 14-member panel investigating whether other crimes were committed in connection with the now-infamous Steubenville rape case will reconvene on Monday.
The Ohio Attorney General's Office indicated last week that the grand jury would meet Monday-through-Thursday of this week, then continue its deliberations next week. It was not made clear if new indictments are expected.
Attorney General Mike DeWine convened the grand jury earlier this year to investigate whether adults, such as coaches or school administrators, knew of the allegation but failed to report it as required by state law.
Earlier this month, the panel handed down its first indictment against 53-year-old William Rhinaman of Mingo Junction. Jurors found evidence that Rhinaman, an IT employee with Steubenville City Schools, altered, destroyed or removed information pertaining to the investigation. He has since been placed on leave.
Two Steubenville football players were convicted in March of raping the West Virginia girl after an alcohol-fueled party in August 2012.
