Commissioners voted unanimously for rate increase on Monday

GUERNSEY COUNTY, Ohio -- Officials in Guernsey County voted on Monday to raise rates for county sewer customers.
On a motion by Commissioner Dave Saft, seconded by Commissioner Tom Laughman, the Guernsey County Commissioners voted unanimously to set the county sewer charge at a minimum $45.00 for 2,000 gallons, and $9.00 per 1,000 gallons thereafter.
The increase, effective Dec. 1, will affect all customers county-wide, excluding customers associated with the Buffalo-Derwent sewer project. Any apartments which are master-metered for water usage will be billed the minimum of $45.00 per-unit for sewer.
