The Rocco’s opened Cambridge Physical Therapy Center in January 1999 on Woodlawn Avenue. The husband and wife team operate their center with the philosophy that when a person is experiencing pain and in need of physical therapy, they want treatment where the staff truly cares, and it’s not just a job to them.
People need not question the quality of care they receive.
“Jen has been serving Cambridge and our surrounding communities longer than any other outpatient physical therapist in our area,” Chris explained. “Our clinicians are state licensed, either as a licensed physical therapist or a licensed physical therapist assistant. We do not have non-licensed personnel doing physical therapy with our patients.”
“We treat pediatrics to geriatrics and all kinds of orthopedic conditions,” Jen said. “We also treat neurological conditions, such as stroke, MS, Parkinson’s Disease ... really any. We treat people pre- and post-surgery, we treat chronic conditions, and we treat sports injuries and workers’ compensation injuries.
She summarized the process a new patient experiences.
“The first time they come in an evaluation is done. Based on that, a customized program is made for them. They’re taken through that program with the equipment we have and hands-on exercises and hands-on stretching. We’re very hands on with our patients, we don’t just hook them up to machines and leave them be.”
Last year the business relocated to their new home at 216 Highland Ave, next to the new Municipal Courthouse.
“It is a nicer location, and as far as convenience for people to get in and out, they don’t have to deal with Southgate Parkway anymore,” Chris said. “We have also expanded our equipment coming to our new facility.”
While Jen Rocco and Tiffany Finch, a licensed physical therapist assistant, attend to patients, Chris, Amy Henthorn and Stephanie Hufnagle attend to managing the office, including a critical aspect.
“Our office staff has dealt with and handled most insurance ... if not all insurance ... in this area,” Chris said. “We’re very well versed and knowledgeable in the aspects of insurance that people in our community would have. We work directly with you, the patient, with your insurance. We do not utilize a billing company. We do not outsource billing. We do everything right here, in our office. If you have a question about your insurance, you’ll be talking to us, and we’ll answer it for you. We’ll work with you to maximize the benefits of your insurance company.”
“At Cambridge Physical Therapy Center, we specialize in physical therapy. By doing so, the highest quality of care is provided patients,” Chris said.
And remember, you don’t need a physician’s referral for physical therapy at Cambridge Physical Therapy Center.
But the Rocco’s are not just business owners. They’re active members of our community.
“In the 14 years we have been here, we’ve been involved, I would like to think, with just about every family in our community, someone, somehow, somewhere ... either through our physical therapy directly, or through our sponsorships of youth sports leagues, high school sports activities, supporting various community organizations and fundraisers, and serving on multiple non-profit and civic boards throughout our community.” Chris explained.
“Cambridge Physical Therapy Center has been here a long time and we’re committed not only to the people we’ve taken care of at our physical therapy center, we’re committed to touch the lives of as many other people as we can in our community, and we will to continue to do that,” Chris said.
