Are you preparing for the fall/winter deer hunting season? Do you have other meats you would like to can?

 Dr. Lynn Knipe, Extension Processed Meats Specialist at The Ohio State University, will be in Marietta,  October 25, 1:00pm – 3:00pm to demonstrate sausage making, explain the process of drying jerky and fermented sausages. Dr. Knipe will bring food samples for tasting!  Following Dr. Knipe’s presentation, information about canning meats will be discussed.

The cost is $25.00.  In addition to taste samples, registration fee includes printed handout information and answers to your home food preservation questions.

Pre-registration is required (due to travel needs, food samples and print materials) and can be made by calling Ohio State University Extension at 740-376-7431.

 Participants are invited to bring dial gauge pressure canner lids to be tested for accuracy.
