Restoration of Cambridge Post Office on hold

Exterior stone work expected to resume in September or October

CAMBRIDGE, Ohio -- The restoration project at the Cambridge Post Office is temporarily on hold.

Workers are scheduled to return in September or October to complete the exterior stone work.

Barricades from the sides of the building, as well as the safety portal around the main entrance on Wheeling Avenue, have been removed. Both the main entrance and the handicapped ramp on the building's east side are now open. Both outdoor collection boxes have been returned to their original locations along Wheeling Avenue and South 10th Street.

Officials say that parking and entrance use restrictions may be reintroduced when construction resumes this fall.
