The Ohio University Cambridge Center on U.S. Route 40 will offer Guernsey County students access to a wide range of courses from OU educators. Dr. Bill Willan, Executive Dean of Regional Higher Education, told AVC News that for many students, beginning their education close to home is crucial:
The deans of OU Zanesville and OU Eastern said that administrators from their campuses have been working for around five years to make the Cambridge Center a reality. Sen. Troy Balderson and representatives for Gov. John Kasich and Treasurer Josh Mandel gave proclamations to commemorate the opening, as well.
Mayor Tom Orr expressed his excitement that Zane State and Ohio University have "book-ended" Cambridge with local educational centers.
Ohio University's fall semester begins on August 25.
