ZANESVILLE, Ohio -- A Chandlersville man has changed his plea in connection to a stabbing incident that took place in February in Norwich.
Court records show that 29-year-old Chad Brill had pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity to one count each of attempted murder, felonious assault, possession of criminal tools and aggravated burglary in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court in March. On Monday, as part deal with prosecutors, Brill pleaded guilty to all charges except for the attempted murder charge, which will be dropped at sentencing.
According to reports, on February 20, Muskingum County Sheriff's Deputies were called to a Sundale Road residence in Norwich after multiple calls to 9-1-1 reporting screaming nearby. Upon arrival, officers say they discovered a female who had suffered a cut wound. Brill was identified by the female as the assailant.
He remains in custody and is scheduled to be sentenced in October.
