Army Pfc. Benjamin R. Loader has graduated from basic combat
training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.
During the nine weeks of training,
the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values,
physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills,
military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony,
marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field
tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot
marches, and field training exercises.
He is the son of Susan Loader of
Eppley Ave., Zanesville, Ohio, and brother of Andrew Loader of Duke St.,
Alexandria, Va.
Loader is a 2004 graduate of Philo
High School, Ohio, and received an associate degree in 2006 from Zane State
College, Zanesville.
Army Pvt. Joseph A. Stewart has graduated from the Infantryman
One Station Unit Training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga.
The training consists of Basic Infantry Training and
Advanced Individual Training.
During the nine weeks of basic combat
training, the soldier received training in drill and
ceremonies, weapons employment, map reading, tactics,
military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first
aid skills, and Army history, core values and traditions.
Additional training included development of basic combat
skills and battlefield operations and tactics, and
experienced use of various weapons and weapons defenses
available to the infantry crewman.
The Advanced Individual Training
course is designed to train infantry soldiers to perform
reconnaissance operations; employ, fire and recover
anti-personnel and anti-tank mines; locate and neutralize
land mines and operate target and sight equipment; operate
and maintain communications equipment and radio networks;
construct field firing aids for infantry weapons; and
perform infantry combat exercises and dismounted battle
drills, which includes survival procedures in a nuclear,
biological or chemical contaminated area.
Stewart earned distinction as an
honor graduate.
He is the son of Harry D. Stewart of
Main St., New Matamoras, Ohio, and nephew of Mike Kidder of
Lynn St., Parkersburg, W.Va.
The private is a 2005 graduate of
Frontier High School, Beavertown, Ohio.
Air Force Airman Marissa L. Wiard has graduated from basic
military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio,
Texas.
During the six weeks of training, the
airman studied the Air Force mission, organization, and
military customs and courtesies; performed drill and
ceremony marches, and received physical training, rifle
marksmanship, field training exercises, and special training
in human relations.
In addition, airmen who complete
basic training earn credits toward an associate degree
through the Community College of the Air Force.
She is the daughter of Stephanie and
stepdaughter of Peter Emmert of Pleasant Valley Road,
Nashport, Ohio.
Wiard is a 2004 graduate of
Tri-Valley High School, Dresden, Ohio.
Army Pvt. Korey M. McIntire has graduated from the Patriot
Missile Repairer Advanced Individual Training course at
Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, Ala.
The course is designed to train
soldiers to perform direct and general support level
maintenance on the Patriot missile system, a combat missile
system that features a phased array radar set and control
station. Students are trained to troubleshoot, repair,
test, inspect and maintain the electrical, mechanical,
electromechanical, analog and digital electronics, and the
integrated and printed circuits of antenna systems
pertaining to the missile and its associated equipment and
components.
He is the son of Sylvia L. and
stepson of David A. Day of Cedar Court W., Nashport, Ohio.
McIntire is a 2006 graduate of
Tri-Valley High School, Dresden, Ohio.
Army Pvt. Charles T. Wells Jr. has graduated from Basic Combat
Training at Fort Knox, Ky.
During the nine-week training period,
the trainee received instruction in drill and ceremony,
weapons, rifle marksmanship and bayonet training, chemical
warfare, field training and tactical exercises, armed and
unarmed combat, military courtesy, military justice,
physical fitness, first aid, and Army history, traditions,
and core values.
He is the son of Kathy Wells of
Hamline Ave., Zanesville, Ohio.
Wells is a 2006 graduate of
Zanesville High School.
Air Force Airman Zachary J. Rice has arrived for duty at
Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma City, Okla.
Rice, an airborne battle manager with
less than one year of military service, is assigned to the
552nd Training Squadron.
He is the son of Pete J. Rice of
Wayland Road, Knoxville, Tenn., and Crystal L. Grimes of
Tacoma Road, Barnesville, Ohio.
The airman is a 2006 graduate of
Barnesville High School.
Air Force Airman 1st Class Kyle W. Little has graduated from
basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San
Antonio, Texas.
During the six weeks of training, the
