Obituaries: Elizabeth "Betty" Yakubisin

|Elizabeth “Betty” (Roman) Yakubisin, 89, of Worthington and formerly of Byesville, passed away Sunday (August 11, 2013) at Mother Angeline McCory Manor.
She was born July 7, 1924 in Pleasant City, daughter of the late Stephen Roman and Elizabeth (Bodner) Roman.
Mrs. Yakubisin was a 1942 graduate of Pleasant City High School. She spent several years after graduation working in the Canton and Cleveland area, then returned to work at Cambridge Universal Pottery until 1953.
She was a member of St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Church. Before moving to Columbus in 1991, she was active in the St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Ladies Guild.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Yakubisin, whom she married July 4, 1953; a brother, Steve Roman; and a son-in-law, Keith Miracle.
She is survived by a son, Mark Yakubisin (Donna) of Portland OR; a daughter, Elaine Miracle of Worthington; grandchildren, Kari (Tim) Clemmons of Charleston SC, Marc Yakubisin of Portland OR, Parker Joseph Miracle (Tawny) of Columbus, Kyle Yakubisin of Kansas City MO, and James Colson Miracle of Worthington; a sister, Irene Ridella of Warren MI; nephews, Greg (Donna) Ridella of Detroit MI, John Ridella of Warren MI, Bill (Laura) Ridella of Detroit MI, Stephen (Amanda) Ridella of Alexandria VA and their families; along with special friends, Ann, Ed, Laura, Suzanne, and Victoria Hirshel.
Family and friends may call on Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville, where Parastas services will begin at 7:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Friday (August 16, 2013) at 10 a.m. at St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Church, Pleasant City, with Father Ed Gretchko officiating.
Burial will be at St. Michael’s Cemetery, Pleasant City.
As an expression of sympathy, the family asks that memorial contributions be made in Betty’s name to the St. Michael’s Byzantine Church Ladies Guild, 408 Walnut Street, Pleasant City OH 43772.
