Obituaries: Joseph Matthew Colarusso

|Joseph Matthew Colarusso, 78, of Pleasant City passed away Friday (October 11, 2013 at his home.
He was born May 18, 1935 in Greensburg, PA and was the son of the late Anthony and Leola Mae (Smeltzer) Colarusso.
Mr. Colarusso retired from the U.S. Air Force after serving 20 years as a Communications Specialist and then served 20 years as a Civil Servant for the USAF.
He was a life member of the American Legion, Fairborn, the Amvets and the Byesville VFW post 3760 where he served as District 5 Commander in 2004-2005 and 2008-2009. He was a member of the Pleasant City Village Council for 12 years and served as Council President for three years. He was also a member of the Masons in Pleasant City and was Catholic by faith.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by an infant son, an infant brother, several aunts and uncles.
He is survived by his wife of thirty years, Margaret "Eileen" (Morland) Colarusso whom he married May 28, 1983; daughters, Mary Ann (James) Barlow of Bryon GA., Terri Lee (Ed) Greene of Boggstown, IN., Ronaele (James) Cuthberson of Oak Harbor, WA., ; step-daughter, Lorena Atwell (Dan Adams) of Altamonte Springs, FL; step-son Lee Perry of Cibalo, TX; three brothers, Carl (Ethel) Colarusso, Mark (Carol) Colarusso and Charles (Mary Ellen) Colarusso all of Greensburg, Pa; two sisters, Julieanne (Fred) Thompson and Beverly (Bernie) Lojas both of Irwin, PA.; seven granddaughters; one step-granddaughter; one step-grandson; seven great grandchildren; one step great grandson of the home; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and the mother of his children Eleanor Bratton.
In lieu of flowers his family requests that memorial donations be made to St. Benedict Church, 701 Gomber Ave., Cambridge, Ohio 43725 or the charity of your choice.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville with services to follow at 7:00 with Fr. Robert Borer officiating.
