Kings Mine
Charles "Keene" Pepper, 86, of Kings Mine passed away Wednesday (November 5, 2013) at Country View Assisted Living.

He was born November 16, 1926 in Cambridge and was the son of the late Harry Carson and Inez (Maier) Pepper.

Keene retired from the Guernsey County Water Dept. He had previously been employed at Phillips Company and Standard Oil.

He was a lifelong member of Christ's Lutheran Church in Cambridge and was a volunteer at the Grace Food Pantry, a member of Kipling VFW #7371 and was an Army Veteran of WWII.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth "Betty" (Wright) Pepper. whom he married March 28, 1953 and passed away November 22, 2004; two brothers, Harry and Louis; one sister Rebecca Holmes.

He is survived by two sons, Harry E. Pepper of Strongsville and Sam A. Pepper of Kings Mine; one daughter Lu Ann (John) Stahovec of Kings Mine; one grandson Logan (Stephanie) Pepper of Kings Mine; one brother Tom (Patsy) Pepper of Cambridge; one sister Carolyn Pepper of Cambridge; several nieces and nephews.

No calling hours will be observed.

Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Senecaville Cemetery with Pastor Katie Kerrigan officiating. Military services will be conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.
