Obituaries: Gilbert L. Gill
|Gilbert L. Gill|
|Gilbert L. Gill, 84, a resident of Country Lawn Rehab Center, Navarre, OH formerly of Cambridge, OH, went to be with the Lord Thanksgiving day, November 28, 2013 following an extended heart illness.
Gilbert was born October 27, 1929 in Happydale, OH to his parents Raymond and Alice (Jones) Gill, who preceded him in death. Also, preceded in death were his loving wife of 55 years, Leah Mae Gill on July 5, 2007; a brother, Raymond Gill Jr. and sisters, Shirley Gill and Evelyn Gill.
He was a graduate of Byesville High School in 1947 and retired from Jefferies Motors inc. in 1986.
Gilbert devoted his life to serving the Lord at the First Church of the Nazarene as a Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday School Teacher, Youth Leader, Trustee, Member of the Official Board, Choir Member, Nazarene String Band and many other positions where he left his Christian legacy.
Gilbert is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Rev. Raymond (Karen) Gill of Navarre; granddaughter Julie (Steve) White of Navarre; grandson Eric (Liz) Gill of Massillon; and great -grandchildren, Zackery, Joey, Aleah, Kameron, and Hailey. He is survived by one brother, Rev. R. Eugene (Betty) Gill of Byesville, OH, five nieces and several great nieces and nephews.
The family extends a special thank you to Country Lawn Rehab Center staff and administrators for their loving care and personal attention given to Gilbert during his stay at their facility.
Calling hours will be observed from 6 to 8 pm on Monday at Bundy-Law Funeral Home, 120 N. 11th Street, Cambridge, OH. Services will be at 11:00 am Tuesday at the First Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Greg Kasler officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cambridge First Church of the Nazarene, 530 Madison Avenue, Cambridge, OH 43725.
