Cecil Dwain Pollock, 85, of Byesville passed away Sunday (January 5, 2014) at his home.

He was born July 7, 1928 in Kimbolton and was the son of the late Foster and Golda (Thomas) Pollock.

Mr. Pollock was a self-employed carpenter. He had previously been employed at R.C.A., owned a dairy farm in Antrim, and worked at Salt Fork State Park. He enjoyed collecting cans on Byesville Rd. and giving the money to the church and the tabs to the Ronald McDonald House. He was a member of Calvary Apostolic Church and was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII and Korea.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son Ronald Pollock, an infant grandson and four brothers.

He is survived by his wife Minnie (Glasgow) Pollock whom he married May 31, 1949; three sons, Richard Pollock of New York, Russell (Mary) Pollock of Columbus and Randy (June) Pollock of Cambridge; two daughters, Rhonda (Joseph) Farhat of California and Ramona (Cole) Robertson of Quaker City; twelve grandchildren and five step grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; special nieces, Betty Browning and Peggy Bichard;

Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday at Guernsey Memory Gardens with Rev. Duke Browning and Rev. Mark Mealick officiating. Military services will be conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.

A special thank you to Hospice of Guernsey for their care and compassion. The family requests memorial donations be made in Cecil's name to Hospice of Guernsey, P.O. Box 1165, Cambridge, Ohio 43725 or donors choice.
No calling hours will be observed
