Ronald L. Tonkin Sr., 75, of Pleasant City passed away Monday (March 17, 2014) at Riverside Methodist Hospital.

He was born February 25, 1939 in Braxton County, WV and was the son of the late William Basil and Geneveve (Williams) Tonkin.

Mr Tonkin retired from Sirpilla RV and Campers in Canton after 20 years of service. He was a U.S. Marine veteran, a member of VFW in Sebring and N.R.A. He was a firm believer in Big Foot and Aliens. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and camping.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers Keith and Terry.

He is survived by his companion of 24 years Donna (Garner) Ballentine; four sons, Ron (Pattie) Tonkin Jr. of Streetsboro, Ryan (Amanda) Tonkin of Dayton, Shawn (Amanda) Ballentine of Pleasant City and Jason (Veronica) Ballentine of Cambridge; two daughters, Theresa (Jim) Hauser of Canfield and Barbara (Keith) Taylor of Beloit; two brothers, Willie Tonkin of Stow and Randy (Sue) Tonkin of Akron; two sisters, Connie and Karen (Bob) Cummings of Akron; twelve grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and beloved dog Bailey Lynn.

Calling hours will be Thursday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville. No services will be observed.
