James (Jim) Roger English, husband of Nancy (Kilburn) English died peacefully at the Red Carpet Healthcare Center surrounded by his family.

Jim lived his entire life in Guernsey County. He started his life in Derwent with his parents Gerald and Zirita (Rogers) English and siblings Bob and Sondra.

Jim was an avid sports fan! The TV channels in the English household were always set to a sporting event. Special programming was used to switch the channel whenever the Buckeyes, Browns or Indians had a game. If he was not watching sports on TV, he was attending sporting events including those of daughters, his granddaughter and five grandsons.

He was a 1955 graduate of Buffalo High School and a member of Chalfants Chapel United Methodist Church. He retired from Champion Spark Plug after 42 years of service. Following retirement, he delivered Meals on Wheels for ten years for Guernsey County Senior Center.

He married the love of his life Nancy (Kilburn) English on September 20, 1959. They were blessed with four daughters. He is survived by Traci & Dave Hermann of Cincinnati, Teri English of Columbus, Tonia English of Cambridge, Tricia & Randy LePage of Byesville, and six grandchildren; Megan, Jimmy, Mark, and John Hermann, and Quinten and Xyler English. He is also survived by his sister Sondra Fehrman, two sisters-in-law Marlene Fehrman and Pat Rogers and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Robert (Bob) English.

The family will be celebrating Jim’s life at the Black-Epperson Funeral home in Byesville, Ohio from 4PM to 8PM on Friday where services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday with Pastor Dave Janusik officiating.
