Reverend Barbara Lillian Earley, age 77, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 26, 2014.

She was born on August 23, 1936 in Cambridge. She was the 1st of 17 children born to James and Barbara (Lett) Logwood.

She graduated from St. Benedict’s Catholic School. After graduation, she attended St. Catherine’s finishing school, the College of Nursing in Zanesville, and the College of Business.

She held many significant appointments, positions, and titles during her lifetime but her most precious accomplishment was accepting the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, into her life and carrying his message through pastoral and other anointed ministries.

She was a devoted and proud Christian with a special gift of love and care for people. She co-founded Operation Blessing, Guernsey County, to assist and feed the needy and Haven of Hope for women of domestic violence.

She retired from her pastoral ministry from the African Methodist Episcopal Church of the 3rd Episcopal District under the leadership of Bishop Robert E. Webster at the Ohio Annual Conference on October 12, 2006. She continued her ministries through bible studies, feeding the hungry, and expressing love and counsel throughout the community.

She will always be known and remembered for her dedication to and love of God, an adoring sense of humor, affection for family and friends, being an avid sports enthusiast, and an Ohio State football fan. She will be deeply missed by her family, community, and those who were privileged to be a part of her life.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice “Tinker” Earley; and brothers, James and Christopher Logwood.

She is survived by five daughters, Kimberly White, Terri (Rodney) Young, Tamara Williams, Lisa (Marty) Earley, and Marcey (Michael) Jeter; four brothers, Charles, Timothy, Joseph, and Gary; five sisters, Diana, Brenda, Veronica, Bethel, and Phyllis; fourteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren; countless nieces and nephews, special caregivers, friends, and extended family.
