Obituaries: Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Abrams

|Elizabeth A. "Betty" Abrams
On Friday May 23, 2014, Elizabeth Ann Bugos Abrams passed into new life at the Beckett House, New Concord, after a lingering illness. She was 84.
Born July 30, 1929 near Salt Fork, she was the ninth of ten children, the daughter of Michael S. and Anna Katherine Hlavaty Bugos. She was the last of her generation of the family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert (Gib) Abrams in 1987, and whom she married August 26, 1950. She was also preceded by her son, James (Jim) in 2007; sisters, Mary Badger and Irene Bugos; brothers, Michael, John, Stephen, Edward, Robert, Frank, and James Bugos.
Her lifelong mission was to be the best wife, loving mother, and grandmother she could be. That mission was indeed accomplished. Although we will remember the fun times and fond memories, we know that her longing to be reunited with the other members of the family and her beloved kitty Sox, has been fulfilled, and that she is once again happy and whole. Although we will always miss her, we will not hold it as a tragic event, but as a celebration of her life and the passing into a new life.
She worked as a stenographer for the former Production Credit Company before her marriage. Although a lifelong homemaker, she worked briefly at the Post House in Cambridge in the early 70s. She was a devout Catholic.
She is survived by daughters, Linda (Robert) Warrick of Pleasant City, Susan (Michael) Milligan of Sedona, AZ, and Kathy (Robert) Biggins of Byesville; grandsons, Scott Warrick (Michelle Kolpein), of Los Angeles, CA, and Andy (Allison Clark) Biggins of Cambridge; granddaughters, Melissa (Brian) Pittman of Canton, Angela Warrick (Frederic Charles) of Las Vegas, NV, and Jamie (Jason) Wells of Caldwell; great grandchildren, Breanna and Brandon Pittman, and Jacob Wells and Baby Girl Wells; sister-in-laws, Joan Bennett Bugos of Waycross, GA and Viola Abrams of Cumberland; as well as many nieces and nephews locally and across the country.
