Steve C. Allen, 53 of Cambridge, OH lost his battle with cancer on June 3, 2014. Born Jan. 31, 1961 in Cambridge, OH, he was a graduate of Meadowbrook High School class of 1979. Steve was an Executive Director of the Community Development Corp. He was former mayor of Lore City where he was a long time member of the fire department. Steve was a former Guernsey Co. Commissioner for 12 years, where he served on many boards and committees throughout the local community. He was a member of the Lore City United Methodist Church, where he was treasurer. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Cambridge. He was honored to be a member of both Meadowbrook and Zanesville Mideast Vocational School Hall of Fame. He was an active foster parent with Guernsey Co. Children’s Services and has impacted many lives.
Steve enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Steve always put others before himself and was a great example to the community. He enjoyed planting vegetables and took pride in his beautiful flowers and garden.
He is survived by: parents Roy and Mildred Allen of Buffalo; wife Kimberley Allen of Cambridge; son Justin (Amanda) Allen of Kipling, daughter Erin (Justin) Allen of Lore City and twin daughters, Rosalie and Rochelle of the home, foster daughter Cheyenne of the home; grandson Evan Marlatt;grandmother Geneva Chismar of Buffalo mother-in-law Becky (late Don V.) Stillion of Cambridge; brother Mike (Jennifer) Allen of Senecaville; sister Denise (Bill) Morse of Canton, sister Diane (Jerry) Haught of Pleasant City, sister Krista (Joel) Jerles of Senecaville; special friend Kristopher Allen Miller Robinson and several nieces, nephews and friends.
Steve’s philosophy to life was “LIVE LIFE TO THE FULLEST & ALWAYS PUT GOD FIRST.”
Visitation will be at Bundy-Law Funeral Home on Thursday, June 5, 2014 from 4 to 8 pm. with Masonic Services at 7 pm. The service will be on Friday at 11 am with Rev. Clayton Coffey officiating. Burial will follow in Buffalo Cemetery. Steve’s online tribute wall may be viewed and signed at www.bundy-lawfuneralhome.com.
