Obituaries: Mansel Turner

New Concord ----- Mansel K. Turner passed away in the loving presence of his family at Southeastern Hospital in Cambridge on Saturday, June 7th, 2014. He was born September 15th, 1940 in Barnesville, Ohio to Otto and Edna Turner. He was 73 years old.
Mansel was a proud member of the United States Air Force, and retired after 20 years of dedicated service, which included some time spent in Vietnam; for which he received a Bronze Star. He also retired after working at Williams and Co. in Cambridge for 20 years. He loved playing games, especially cards, with his beloved family, but he really cherished the games he played with his grandchildren. He would often be found toiling about his yard, and on game day he would cheer on the Indians and Browns. He was a wonderful husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, and friend.
Mansel is preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Roy M. Turner; as well as his brothers-in-law, Edward Parsons, WIllaim Pulley, and John Pulley. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Barbara “June” Turner (Pulley); his son, Scott G. Turner (Tammy) of Cambridge, Ohio, son, Phillip C. Turner (Deborah) of Chandler, AZ, and his daughter, Amy E. Loy (Brockman) of Nashport, Ohio. His memory will be cherished by his four grandchildren, Renee Turner (Paul) Spence, Nicholette Turner, Brockman Loy II, and Emily Loy; his Step-granddaughter, Nicole (Matthew) Salusky, Step-grandson, Matthew Taylor, and his step-great-grandchildren, Noah Salusky, Elah Salusky, and Michael Taylor. He will be deeply missed by his brother, Kenneth (Doris) Turner, his sister, Hazel (Bill) Davis, sister, Sarah Parsons, sisters-in-law, Pam Pulley, Carol Pulley, and Sandra (Richard) Boisselle, his brothers-in-law, Robert (Debra) Pulley, and Charles (Deanna) Pulley as well as 45 nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, family, and friends.
Friends and family are welcomed to attend a celebration of life for Mansel at the New Concord United Methodist Church, 20 E High St., New Concord, OH at 6PM on Tuesday, June 10th. Burial is private. The family request that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the New Concord United Methodist Church, or the American Cancer Society, 5555 Frantz Rd, Dublin, Ohio 43017.
Friends and family are welcomed to attend a celebration of life for Mansel at the New Concord United Methodist Church, 20 E High St., New Concord, OH at 3:30PM on Tuesday, June 10th.
Burial is private.
