Obituaries: Donald Lee Schlosser

|Donald Lee Schlosser, 79, of Byesville went to be with the Lord on July 5, 2014 following a lengthy illness.
He was born December 8, 1934 at home in Kipling and was the son of the late John B. and Annabelle (McManaway) Schlosser.
Don was a 1953 graduate of Byesville High School, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1954 and served through 1956. His working career began at Guernsey Auto Parts, and continued with Schick's Filling Station, Chas Snipes putting tractors together, Morris Tire and Supple as a tire safety specialist. From 1974-1996 he was the owner of the Dew Drop Inn and owned the S&S Coin and Music from 1980 to 1998. In later years he was a truck driver by trade and drove for Kroger Co. He owned and operated his own truck for many years. He was always dreaming of going back to work.
He was a life member of 672 Sportsman's Club, Belle Valley American Legion, Byesville VFW #3760, Caldwell Moose Club, Reynoldsburg Baptist Church. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, especially with Dave and Donna through the Ohio Power lands, boating, waterskiing, camping volunteering for the Democratic party and walking his dog Buddy.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Joan (Batyk) Schlosser whom he married July 4, 1958; an infant son Lonnie Kurt Schlosser; four brothers, Harold, Charles, Robert and Jerry Schlosser.
He is survived by two sons, Donald (Michelle) Schlosser of Senecaville and Rodney (Deena) Schlosser of Pleasant City; three brothers, Dave (Donna) Schlosser of Pleasant City, Al Schlosser of Byesville and John (Helen) Schlosser of Cambridge; one sister Annabelle (Jim) Olden of Cambridge; three step grandchildren, Steven and Shawn Tuma of Pleasant City and Bryanna Raabe of Senecaville; one step great granddaughter Khloe Tuma of Lore City; several nieces, nephews; his dog Buddy.
Calling hours will be Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and Thursday from 10 -11 a.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville where services will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Nancy Parsons officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery with military services conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.
