Tribe Tops Astros

HOUSTON (AP) - The Cleveland Indians beat the Houston Astros 2-0 last night. Carlos Carrasco threw a two-hitter with a career-high 12 strikeouts. Yan Gomes had an RBI single in the fourth inning and a run-scoring triple in the sixth for the Tribe.

The teams wrap up their series tonight at 8:10 on 93.5 WBNV.

Cubs Complete Cincy Sweep

CHICAGO (AP) - The Chicago Cubs beat the Cincinnati Reds 3-1 last night for a series sweep. Kyle Hendricks kept up his impressive rookie season, pitching seven strong innings. Chris Valaika, Ryan Kalish and Luis Valbuena each had a run-scoring hit for the Cubs. The Reds have dropped four in a row overall. They scored just one run in the three-game series against the Cubs, and were held to one hit in a shutout loss Tuesday night.

Bengals Receiver Doesn't Practice

CINCINNATI (AP) - Pro Bowl receiver A.J. Green was held out of practice yesterday with an injured toe. Green hurt his toe during the Cincinnati Bengals' opening win in Baltimore. He stayed in for the full game. It's unclear if he will be available this Sunday against Tennessee.

Browns Stars Return to Practice

BEREA, Ohio (AP) - Cleveland Browns Pro Bowl tight end Jordan Cameron and starting linebacker Barkevious Mingo both returned to practice yesterday after missing last week with shoulder injuries. Cameron and Mingo sat out Sunday's home win over New Orleans. Browns coach Mike Pettine says he doesn't know if they will play this week against Baltimore.

Johansen, CBJ Far Apart

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Talks between the Columbus Blue Jackets and restricted free agent center Ryan Johansen are at an impasse. Johansen's agent says the young star left Columbus yesterday. Training camp starts today. The club says Johansen refused offers of $6 million for two years, $32 million for six and $46 million over eight years.
