Ohio launches website for suspected fraud reports

Written by

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - The state has launched a website it says will make it easier to report cases of suspected fraud in Medicaid, food assistance programs and other social services.

The Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services says a small percentage of benefits dispersed by such programs are believed to be fraudulently accepted.

Department director Cynthia Dungey says fraud can be reported instantly and anonymously through the site. She says instances of fraud create an unfair stigma for those who deserve the benefits and are eligible for them.

Users of the state site can give names, addresses and other details about suspected fraud cases. People also have the option of reporting potential fraud cases in unemployment compensation, publicly funded child care and cash assistance programs.
