Four college students killed in Ohio plane crash

Written by

CLEVELAND (AP) - The Ohio State Highway Patrol says the plane that crashed in suburban Cleveland killing four college students was rented for four hours.

The plane had been rented by the pilot, 20-year-old William Felten of Saginaw, Michigan. The patrol spokesman says no flight plan was filed.

Felten, along with 20-year-old Lucas Marcelli of Massillon, Ohio, 18-year-old Abraham Pishevar of Rockville, Maryland, and 18-year-old John Hill of St. Simons, Georgia, were students at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland. Marcelli, Pishevar and Hill were members of the university's varsity wrestling team.

The plane crashed and then exploded shortly after takeoff from Cuyahoga County Regional Airport about 10 p.m. Monday. The four men were trapped inside the wreckage.

Monday marked the first day of classes at Case Western Reserve University.
