CAMBRIDGE, Ohio -- Three people were injured in a multi-vehicle collision on Tuesday night in Guernsey County.
According to reports from the Cambridge Post of the State Highway Patrol, Anthony Berge of San Bernardino, California was driving a semi tractor-trailer on Interstate 70 eastbound near Old Washington just after 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday when - during a lane change - he failed to maintain assured clear distance and struck the rear of a pick-up truck driven by a Cadiz man. Berge's semi went into the median and overturned, while the Cadiz man's truck struck the rear of a third vehicle, a semi driven by an Illinois man.
Berge's passenger was transported to Southeastern Med in Cambridge for treatment. Two passengers from the pick-up truck were life-flighted to the OSU Medical Center and Akron General Hospital, respectively, for treatment. All are said to be in stable condition.
Antrim Fire Chief Don Warnock said that crews from his department, as well as the Fairview and Old Washington Volunteer Fire Departments, responded to the scene after attending to a different fire nearby. The Lore City Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene, clearing a landing strip for the Med-Flight helicopter.
