Intense heat melted siding, interior blinds of nearby house

CUMBERLAND, Ohio -- Crews from three area fire departments battled a blaze in Cumberland for more than three hours Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.
According to reports from the Cumberland Volunteer Fire Department, firefighters responded to a garage fire at a Cambridge Street residence at around 11:40 p.m. Upon arrival, firefighters found the structure fully involved, and requested assistance from the Cassell Station and Pleasant City Volunteer Fire Departments.
Crews from the three departments fought the blaze until around 2:45 a.m. Wednesday. Officials say that the radiant heat was so intense that it melted the exterior siding and interior blinds of a nearby house.
The structure is considered a total loss. The cause of the fire has yet to be determined, as an investigation by local authorities is ongoing.
