Mingo Junction man indicted in connection with Jefferson County rape case

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - A Jefferson County school district's technology director has retired after being charged with evidence tampering in an investigation about whether other laws were broken in a rape case involving two athletes.
Steubenville schools IT director William Rhinaman is charged with evidence tampering, obstructing justice, obstructing official business and perjury. The 53-year-old Mingo Junction man has pleaded not guilty. Prosecutors haven't outlined specific allegations against him.
The Steubenville Herald Star reports the school board approved the longtime employee's immediate retirement Friday. A message seeking comment was left for his appointed attorney.
Rhinaman was indicted by a grand jury looking into other aspects of the rape case. It was convened after two Steubenville high school football players were convicted of raping a 16-year-old West Virginia girl after an August 2012 party.
