Local lawmaker to showcase Ohio's energy initiatives

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – An area lawmaker has been named to a national task force concerned with stable and affordable energy supplies.
Last week, Sen. Troy Balderson of Zanesville was chosen to serve as a member of the National Conference of State Legislatures Task Force on Energy Supply. Balderson, a leader in energy policy from the Statehouse, serves as the Chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on Energy and Natural Resources.
Balderson said "It is an honor and privilege to be included in a task force...at such an important time for our growing economy.” He said he also sees the appointment as an opportunity to "showcase the energy initiatives [being established] here in Ohio" and learn more about "the direction of energy policy across the nation."
The creation of the national, 23-member task force is intended to explore the issues and opportunities within the energy sector while focusing on economically viable, long-term policies.
