Monday's Deer kill numbers released

Hunters bag over 22,000 Whitetail on Day #1 of the Deer-Gun season
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- Results  are in for the first day of deer-gun season.   According to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, hunters, statewide, bagged 22,620 deer on Monday
So far in the broader deer-hunting season, which includes days set aside for youth hunters and those who use primitive weapons, hunters have killed 109,932 -- about 3 percent fewer than in the same period last year, according to the ODNR Wildlife Division.   About 420,000 hunters are expected in the fields this season. The deer-gun season, which is the most popular, continues through Sunday.  Counties reporting the highest numbers of deer killed on Monday were Coshocton (940), Ashtabula (880), Tuscarawas (853), Muskingum (831), Guernsey (742), Harrison (738), Carroll (698), Knox (645), Columbiana (584) and Licking (572).
