BELMONT COUNTY, Ohio -- Power has been restored to all Belmont County residents affected by Wednesday night's widespread storms.
Some customers were without electricity for more than 24 hours following the storm that was accompanied by lightning and large hail. AEP Ohio reported that service was fully restored in the region by 8:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Company officials from AEP and South Central Power said that, on Wednesday night, nearly 8,000 customers were without electricity.
The same storms brought flood watches to southeastern and northern Ohio, and a now-confirmed tornado in central Ohio.
