Escaped inmate arrested in Cambridge Saturday night

Budd Cobb taken into custody without incident on Byesville Road

CAMBRIDGE, Ohio -- A convicted felon who escaped the Guernsey County Jail on Saturday morning has been located and placed into custody.

According to Capt. Jeff Paden of the Guernsey County Sheriff's Office, deputies and Cambridge Police officers arrested 35-year-old Budd Allen Cobb on Byesville Road in east Cambridge just before 11:00 p.m. on Saturday. Capt. Paden said that Cobb had been hiding out at a North Avenue residence for sometime before he was taken into custody.

Cobb escaped the Guernsey County Jail just after 9:00 a.m. Saturday and fled east on foot towards Woodlawn Avenue. Court records show that Cobb has an extensive history of violent and drug-related offenses. In December, he was arrested for robbery, and in March, he was charged with aggravated arson.

Capt. Paden thanked the Cambridge Police Department and the community for their cooperation in apprehending Cobb.

Cobb is once again in custody in the Guernsey County Jail. Charges related to the escape are pending.

CAMBRIDGE, Ohio -- A convicted felon with a lengthy criminal record remains at-large after escaping the Guernsey County Jail this morning.

Thirty-five year old Budd Allen Cobb escaped custody just after 9:00 a.m. and fled east on foot towards Woodlawn Avenue. According to Capt. Jeff Paden of the Guernsey County Sheriff's Office, Cobb is six feet tall, weighing 190 pounds, with short, brown hair and hazel eyes. Cobb has many visible tattoos on his face and neck. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, gray sweatpants and white tennis shoes.

Court records show that Cobb has an extensive history of violent and drug-related offenses. In December, he was arrested for robbery, and in March, he was charged with aggravated arson. Cobb should be considered dangerous. Capt. Paden advised all those in the listening area to lock their cars and homes until he is returned to custody.
