CAMBRIDGE, Ohio -- An investigation continues into an inmate's escape from the Guernsey County Jail on Saturday.
Thirty-five-year-old Budd Allen Cobb fled the jail at around 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. He was apprehended by deputies and Cambridge Police officers on Byesville Road in east Cambridge just before 11:00 p.m. on Saturday. Capt. Jeff Paden said that Cobb had been hiding out at a North Avenue residence for sometime before he was taken into custody.
In the aftermath of Cobb's capture, Capt. Paden said that, as the escape remains under investigation, details of Cobb's flight could not be disclosed.
Court records show that Cobb has an extensive history of violent and drug-related offenses. In December, he was arrested for robbery, and in March, he was charged with aggravated arson.
Cobb is once again in custody in the Guernsey County Jail. Charges related to the escape are pending.
