CAMBRIDGE, Ohio -- A Buffalo man arrested in connection with an alleged sexual assault in April was indicted by the Guernsey County grand jury last week.
According to Thursday's release from Prosecutor Daniel G. Padden, 40-year-old Brian Rossiter was indicted on charges of rape (F1) and sexual battery (F3) for the alleged attack on a 22-year-old Byesville woman on April 4. Because of Rossiter's lengthy criminal history, the Sheriff's Special Response Team was called in to execute the arrest approximately 24 hours after the alleged rape occurred. Rossiter was arrested without incident.
Judge John Mark Nicholson at that time set Rossiter's bond at $1 million with no 10 percent allowed.
Prosecutor Padden said that, of the nine indictments handed down on May 22, seven were secret. Also indicted was 25-year-old Lawrence X. Tabler of Cambridge, charged with domestic violence (F4) with a specification for prior convictions.
Rossiter, Tabler, and all others indicted last week are summoned to appear in the Guernsey County Common Pleas Court for arraignment on June 22.
