BYESVILLE, Ohio -- An autopsy has been ordered for a Byesville man discovered dead in his vehicle on Thursday.
According to Byesville Police Chief Jason May, officers found 56-year-old James Patrick Cummings in the backseat of his black Chevrolet SUV at around 11:45 a.m. on Thursday. Officers responded to the scene near the intersection of S. 2nd Street and Seneca Street after receiving a call from a concerned citizen. United Ambulance also responded to the scene.
Chief May said that clothing and plastic storage containers found in the vehicle suggest that Cummings had been living out of the SUV.
May added that nothing was found at the scene to suggest foul play. Cummings' body will be autopsied at the Licking County morgue by order of the Guernsey County Cororner's Office.
