Suspect subdued after short stand-off with officers on Sunday

CAMBRIDGE, Ohio -- Charges have been filed against a Cambridge man allegedly caught in the middle of a break-in at a Glenn Highway business.

According to reports from the Cambridge Police, officers were dispatched to West 40 Buy-Pay Here just after 1:00 a.m. on Sunday after receiving reports of an intruder. Upon arrival, officers found two men at the entrance to the business, who told them the intruder was inside the building and they were holding the door shut so he couldn't leave.

Police surrounded the building and advised the men to step away from the door, which was then opened. The suspect, later identified as 42-year-old Harry W. Graham, was ordered to come out, but reportedly refused to comply. Officers advised Graham that, if he didn't comply, K-9 Luna would be released to enter the building.

The suspect allegedly continued to ignore police orders and Luna was sent in the building. After a brief encounter with the K-9, Graham said he would comply if the dog was removed. Officers attempted to take the suspect into custody, but he again refused to comply with orders and Luna was again released. This time the K-9 unit reportedly knocked Graham down and bit his hand, and the suspect was taken into custody without further incident.

Graham now faces a felony-five count of breaking and entering. The break-in remains under investigation by Cambridge Police Detectives.
