FRAZEYSBURG, Ohio -- More than 500 people gathered at a candlelight vigil to celebrate the life of a young boy killed earlier this week.
The Frazeysburg Homecoming Festival concluded on Thursday night with a prayer and moment of silence for 11-year-old Lucas Templin. Family members say Templin was accidentally shot and killed while playing with his best friend Tuesday afternoon.
The community has already rallied to raise over $9,000 through www.gofundme.com to help the family with funeral expenses.
Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz said on Wednesday that he is awaiting the results of an investigation by sheriff's detectives, as well as an autopsy report, before passing the case along to Prosecutor Mike Haddox, who will decide if any charges will be filed against the juvenile or his parents.
