ZANESVILLE, Ohio -- State authorities have identified two missing men whose bodies were found in the Muskingum River on Friday.
Investigators with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources told media outlets on Monday morning that 35-year-old Travis Krouskoupf and 24-year-old Kenny Tucker were recovered from the Muskingum River last Friday. Spokeswoman Eileen Corson said that the men's names were withheld over the weekend until family could be notified.
Crews from the ODNR found Krouskoupf at around 1:00 p.m. Friday, just south of the Rokeby Lock in Morgan County. Tucker's body was recovered at around 8:00 p.m. after a person saw it floating in the water near State Route 60 in Zanesville. Both bodies were sent to the Licking County Coroner's Office for autopsy.
The boat involved in the accident, a blue-and-white open bow vessel named “Jake’s Dream," was allegedly stolen on Monday evening. The men were reported in the water on Tuesday around 3:30 p.m.
An investigation is ongoing.
