MARIETTA, Ohio -- Democratic candidate Jennifer Garrison has challenged her opponent, incumbent Congressman Bill Johnson, to seven debates in the seven media markets throughout the Sixth Congressional District.
Garrison said in a press release Wednesday that this will allow more voters the opportunity to see each of their views and approach to the job. Through the debates, she said, the community will then in turn be able to make an informed voting decision.
Garrison sent the letter to Bill Johnson's home Wednesday.
GOP Rep. Johnson's campaign responded by saying that there will be plenty of time for political campaigning and candidate forums after Labor Day and Johnson is committed to participate in candidate forums at that time.
The Sixth Congressional district includes portions of Guernsey, Noble, Belmont, Monroe, Muskingum and many other counties in southern and eastern Ohio.
