The average price for a gallon of regular gas was $3.56 in Monday's survey from auto club AAA, the Oil Price Information Service and WEX Inc. That's 7 cents cheaper than a week ago, but it's also notably higher than the average of about $3.38 per gallon at this time last year.
In our listening area, Zanesville has the lowest prices at the pump, at $3.39 per-gallon. Cambridge's reported low is $3.48 a-gallon, with a low of $3.67 in Barnesville. Caldwell's price at the pump is hovering around $3.69 per-gallon.
Monday's national average was higher than the state average at about $3.66 per gallon, down 2 cents from a week ago.
As the week opened, oil fell below $104 per barrel as expectations of increased supply offset strong U.S. job growth.
