Eclipse Resources welcomed business leaders to site near Quaker City

CAMBRIDGE, Ohio -- A Pennsylvania-based exploration company on Tuesday invited a cadre of area business owners and officials to visit a well pad under development in Guernsey County.

Eclipse Energy welcomed more than a dozen members of the Cambridge Area Chamber of Commerce to its Hayes Well near Quaker City. Amy Dugan, a spokeswoman for Eclipse Energy, told AVC News on Tuesday morning that the company has drilled two of four wells on the site:

Dugan said that Eclipse Energy has spent $1 billion developing 95,000 acres in the Utica Shale, which is centered firmly in our listening area:

Eclipse Resources was founded in State College, Pennsylvania in June 2011. Since that time, the company has developed 71 wells in Ohio. Eclipse has also entered into midstream partnerships with Antero Resources in Noble County and Triad Hunter in Monroe County.

Dugan said that Eclipse is also dedicated to community outreach. In 2013, the company donated $200,000 to community causes and organizations. Eclipse Resources is on track to make $400,000 in donations this year.
