CAMBRIDGE, Ohio -- A Perry County man, caught following a foot chase off of I-70 near Cambridge on Wednesday, has been charged
Eighteen-year-old Tyler Speegle of Junction City, Ohio has been charged with a felony-four count of receiving stolen property in Cambridge Municipal Court for allegedly stealing a Cadillac in his home county.
According to reports, Trooper Scott Bayless spotted Speegle behind the wheel of the late-model Cadillac on I-70, following another vehicle too closely, just before 1:00 p.m. Bayless attempted to make a traffic stop on the vehicle, but Speegle allegedly sped off in an attempt to elude the trooper. The fugitive then pulled off to the side of the road a short distance later, just west of the Champion exit, and attempted to flee on foot. Trooper Bayless then released his K-9, Alex, who tracked the suspect into a wooded area.
The dog located Speegle and he was taken into custody by troopers without incident.
The suspect remains in custody in the Guernsey County Jail, pending a bond hearing on Friday afternoon.
