WINTERSVILLE, Ohio -- Jefferson County authorities say a woman accused of attempted murder and aggravated assault told police she was dreaming that she was filleting fish when she stabbed her husband in the neck.
Forty-four-year-old Judith Irene Jones of Dillonvale was arraigned on Monday afternoon in Wintersville. Officers reported that they arrived at the couple's home early Saturday morning after a 16-year-old at the residence called 911 and told dispatchers that his mother had stabbed his father in the neck.
The victim was immediately transported to an area hospital. He was said to be stable, as of Monday afternoon.
At the scene, Jones allegedly told police she was dreaming that she was filleting fish when the stabbing occurred. Police said they were familiar with family, and noted complaints filed this past February that Jones had allegedly said she was going to stab and kill the man. She also allegedly made threats against his life one year ago.
Police believe alcohol was involved in this incident.
