PHILADELPHIA, PA (AP) -- The Columbus Blue Jackets had a busy day Saturday. The club selected six players during the second day of the NHL draft, including three forwards, three defensemen and one goaltender, while also re-signing defenseman Dalton Prout to a two-year extension. A restricted free agent, Prout could have received offers from other teams beginning on Tuesday.
Among the Jackets' picks is United States National Development Program defenseman Ryan Collins. Columbus selected Collins with the 47th overall pick.
Collins is a 6-5, 202-pound native of Bloomington, Minnesota who collected four goals and 10 assists for 14 points with 40 penalty minutes in 107 games over the past two seasons with the USNDP.
